Uber is delivering Christmas trees TODAY

Source - Home Depot and Uber are joining forces to deliver Christmas trees provided by the big-box hardware retailer to the users of the app-based car service in 10 U.S. cities, the companies said Wednesday.
"Instead of spending your weekend wrestling with a tree from the not-so-near farm or slushy street corner, kick back, pour yourself an extra glass of eggnog and watch your app as Uber takes care of the heavy lifting. With the help of The Home Depot and a bit of holiday magic, Uber will deliver a live tree to your doorstep with the touch of a button," Uber said in a blog post.
Trees measuring 7-8 feet in height will be available for $135 through the service, paid via the Uber app with no cash needed when the tree is delivered to a customer's door. Interested parties simply have to have to download the Uber app for the iPhone, Android phones, or BlackBerrys, which you can do via the dedicated UberTree site set up for the promotion, fill out the requisite form details, and then request "UberTREE" via the app between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time on Thursday.
Uber said it anticipates that "demand for Christmas trees in all 10 cities will be extremely high and availability will be limited." Once ordered, the company said trees would arrive at customers' doorsteps "within minutes."
The service will be available in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C., where 7-8 foot Fraser Firs will be available for $135, as well as in San Diego and San Francisco, where Uber users can have a 7-8 foot Noble Fir delivered to their home or office for the same price.

Uber isn't that big back east, or I guess I should say not that necessary. But there are no cabs in LA. I've taken uber or lyft literally every time I've gone out. It's expensive but convenient, kind of.
If you want this you better get to it, you have til 8 tonight. But really, do you want this? If you don't cut down your own Christmas tree you are soft, and even if you do get a pre cut one who the fuck doesn't want to see it first? That's the whole point. You go and look at a 100 trees for an hour and finally pick the perfect one. Then you give a rotary club guy 20 bucks. I'm certainly not paying uber $135 for sight unseen.
