Shia LaBeouf Accused of Plagiarism After Debuting Short Film Online

Source - Shia LaBeouf is at the center of a plagiarism controversy after graphic novelist Daniel Clowes has accused the star of borrowing shamelessly from his 2007 comic,Justin M. Damiano, for a short film directed by the Charlie Countryman star. That film, Howard Cantour -- which follows the inner dialogue of a disgruntled film critic -- debuted last May at the Cannes Film Festival, where no one in attendance seemed to notice that the characters and dialogue had been lifted directly from Clowes' panels. But when the film debuted online on Monday, the Internet was quick to take notice.

Shia apologized on twitter for this saying that his excitement made him forget to follow the proper accreditation. Is that all that is going to happen here? I mean he lifted an entire comic book and turned it into a movie, word for word dialog. Can I do this? My work sucks, I can't sell a script to save my fucking life, but can I just steal someone else's idea if I apologize and say I was so fucking jazzed up to steal it that I forgot to say I didn't write it? No press is bad press. At least I have an imdb credit for intellectual property theft.

Actually that is what I should call the movie. And it will be about this exact story. I will use the same comic and Shia's short. He can't get mad right? Don't hate the player hate the game.

PF rating 6.5

PS I kinda like Shia but this shirt always made me laugh
