Netflix is embracing the art of the "binge" as it seeks to sell more subscriptions during the holidays.
A Harris Interactive survey commissioned by Netflix and released on Friday found that a majority of streaming television viewers in the United States enjoy binge-viewing — the act of watching TV episodes back-to-back — and feel that it makes shows more enjoyable.
Uhh no shit. Obviously I would rather watch a billion episodes in a row then one every week. No commercials. It's a no brainer. Netflix gives you 15 seconds between episodes for you to decide if you are doing anything with your life. If you're like me, that's an easy decision. Buckle up for the long haul. I've been stuck in a few Netflix binges myself and I gotta say here is the problem. There is no disc change. When I throw on a dvd of a tv show and just hit play all I would sit there all day, but eventually, after seven or so episodes, you have to get up and change the disc. Throws off the whole vibe. Netflix only does that at season breaks. And to be honest, thank god they do that. I could see myself accidentally hitting play on the pilot episode of LOST and not moving for 6 six days.
