Source - Doris Payne, the 83-year-old career jewelry thief whose worldwide exploits have grabbed international headlines, was ordered to stand trial Wednesday in her most recent case out of Riverside County. Payne has been charged with second-degree burglary and grand theft after allegedly stealing a diamond-encrusted ring from a Palm Desert jewelry store Oct. 21. The judge noted the 83-year-old had listed her occupation on court papers as “jewelry thief” — which she had done in at least one prior arrest.
When I saw this headline I figured this chick was standing trial for something she did long ago. Wrong! She bagged a $22,500 diamond ring in October at age 83! Sly like a fox, this lady. She even escaped federal custody in the 80s. I believe in her day she was slick, but if you are getting your shit stolen by an 83 year old women you deserve to be robbed. What does she just waddle out of the store as you realize there's nothing left on shelf two?

PPS apparently they are making a movie about her starring Halle Berry. I have not been asked to audition.
